Yann Tiersen: Comptine D’un Autre Été
I got a card from someone who is very dear to me, and this quote was inscribed:
“the unexamined life is not worth living” -Socrates
“always good to evaluate..but it is very important to live in the present”
I love things like this on a shitty day. I love these little things in life!
by Robert Herrick
Gather ye rosebuds while ye may,
Old time is still a-flying :
And this same flower that smiles to-day
To-morrow will be dying.
The glorious lamp of heaven, the sun,
The higher he’s a-getting,
The sooner will his race be run,
And nearer he’s to setting.
That age is best which is the first,
When youth and blood are warmer ;
But being spent, the worse, and worst
Times still succeed the former.
Then be not coy, but use your time,
And while ye may go marry :
For having lost but once your prime
You may for ever tarry.
just read this for Brit Lit and I really love it!
remembering to not
think too much
care too much
be scared too much
I want to think and care and be scared though
if it means I’m living
I just don’t want extremes
that wrap so tightly my head
and cause it to spin
when it should just be
and do what it’s suppose to,
without any of this remembering stuff involved
I want to remember to not remember that I have to be
I just want to be.
