#My sister
Poesia/Pablo Neruda

And I, infinitesimal being,
drunk with the great starry
void,
likeness, image of
mystery,
felt myself a pure part
of the abyss,
I wheeled with the stars,
my heart broke loose on the wind.

day five : ten wishes

1 That I can be an art/travel freelance writer for a well-to-do magazine/newspaper.

2 That all social and cultural ‘phobias’ can end (i.e. Islamiphobia, homophobia).

3 People would open their eyes and see that humans are all EQUALS.

4 I had more time to read.

5 New York/DC/Boston/fun weekend excursions weren’t so expensive.

6 My hair would grow faster.

7 I could stay home for a little longer.

8 I didn’t have two finals the day after my birthday. >.<

9 The clouds would go away; I want a sunny cold day!

10 To live in Spain in 10/15 year’s time.

ten things you want to say to one person

I alway loved your cooking. I wish you could have taught me how to sew. I wish it didn’t happen the way it did. I hope that you were happy, I thought you were. I hope you’re with him. I want to learn to be as loving as you. I hope you liked my letter and bracelet. I think about you all the time. Someday, I want to make bierocks as good as you did. I love you.

numero dos : ten things you love

1 Riding a bicycle to escape; to feel the wind in your hair and the tires spin fiercely on the solid pavement.

2 Having little things to look forward to in a long week.

3 The art of words and the power of images and sounds. The strength of a good memory.

4 Walking around a city just to explore—Without a thing to do or a place to be.

5 A night in with sushi, a movie, and cuddling.

6 Waking up bundled in the sheets next to someone special, and the feel of their hand on your bare skin.

7 Turning in something that makes you feel proud about your writing/capabilies.

8 Coming home after a long time away.

9 Hats, scarves, boots, mittens and cozy sweaters in the wintertime. Tea and smores too!

10 The feeling of getting lost in music, art, a dance or a place (even if it’s cliche).

day one : ten things about you

1 Ever since college, I’m even more of a tea and coffee junkie. They are perfectly pair with a good New York bagel or chocolate croissant (PS I LOVE sushi, or just food in general).

2 I go to art school for art history and gender studies; I love art and women’s studies: pre and post wave feminism, feminist and queer art, and the art world in general fascinate me.

3 Currently sitting in my Women Artists & Feminist Criticism course; It’s my favorite class I’m just anxious for thanksgiving break!

4 I love living in New York and being so close to the city—but I do miss DC’s alternative city charms.

5 I will never be a morning person. As nice as it is to wake up and peacefully enjoy the morning, I love to sleep in. I also love waking up next to people that make me happy.

6 Some day, I want to live in Spain, maybe Barcelona or Sevilla. But I don’t ever see myself settling down; I want to experience different ways of life.

7 I love reading and researching artists/art movements. Culture and global societies fascinate me. I would love to be an art/travel writer sometime in my life. Sometimes I like to write poetry and go to poetry readings and open mics. :)

8 I hate prescribing to labels (as snobby as that sounds), but I hate the inherent need to put people in a box. With that said (the other day) my friend said if he had to, he’d call me a cutesy/hippie/hip lesbian.

9 I’m excited to have my own apartment; to decorate it, personalize it, and cook for myself and friends. And I’d rather stay in watching a movie, drink tea, and knit than go out and get drunk.

10 I try to have an open mind, give people the benefit of the doubt, and feel cordially to everyone, but I hate nothing more than  intentional apathy and ignorance. There are so many wonderful things in this world, but so many that need consideration and fixing. Without awareness, we’re not going to move anywhere, let alone make progress and curb discrimination and prejudice.
